Game Rules

Objective: Get as close as possible to 23 (or the active target) without going over. Use Number and Destrier cards to outsmart your opponent.

Setup: Shuffle both decks. Each player draws 2 Destrier cards, 1 hidden Hole card, and 1 face-up Number card. The player with the highest visible card starts.

Possible actions: Draw a Number card, play a Destrier card, or stand to lock your hand. (Maximum of 5 total cards.)

Destrier cards:

  • PLUS 3 — Add 3 to a hand’s total
  • MINUS 3 — Subtract 3 from a hand’s total
  • EXCHANGE — Swap last visible Number cards between players
  • BURY — Send the last visible Number card of any hand to the bottom of the deck
  • DENY — Block a Destrier (same turn only)
  • DECLARE 21 / 25 / 27 — Change the victory target

Winning: Reveal Hole cards — closest to the target wins. A “11 + 12” hand wins instantly.
